The Department of Natural Resources and Energy Development is seeking an individual to join the Resource Development Branch as an Aggregate Resource Specialist, in Fredericton.
As a member of the Quarriable Resources team and reporting to the section manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Crown land aggregate program. Responsibilities of this position include managing tenure/access rights for Crown aggregate; establishing conditions for the development and extraction of the resource; working and communicating directly with industry clients; overseeing compliance monitoring to ensure work is completed as required; and following up on identified areas of non-compliance. This role is also responsible for managing fees, rents, and royalties associated with the program; providing data, information, and expertise; and generally managing Crown aggregate sites to ensure they are operating in compliance with safety and environmental regulations and standards. Other related duties and projects may be assigned as required.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: A diploma from a related two-year technical program, or equivalent; a minimum of four (4) years of progressively more responsible post-diploma experience; and a minimum of one (1) year of program management experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

ASSET QUALIFICATION(S): Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate experience in one or more of the following: establishing operational standards and/or assessing compliance against them (for example, a regulatory or quality-assurance based role); working within the construction industry, particularly with aggregate supply; working with a Geographic Information System (GIS); participating in or leading continuous improvement projects; working with performance measures and dashboards. Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

- Written and spoken communication skills.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate must be prepared to: work within an office environment; performfield work as required; use all required protective clothing and equipment during field work situations; work with a high degree of independence and judgment; travel within and outside of the province as required; possess a valid Class 5 driver licence as issued by the Province of New Brunswick, or equivalent.
SALARY: $55,276 to $69,446 per annum
