We are currently looking for a Property Paralegal to support our Halifax Office.
Summary of responsibilities
Assist in preparation of commercial real estate transactions.
Prepare first draft of opinion letters, revise purchase agreements and read surveys.
Researches and analyzes due diligence searches, property surveys, and property title documents, and orders title insurance.
Preparation of LRA filings.
Preparation of legal documents such as leases, purchase contracts, buy-sell agreements, closing papers and transaction books, deeds, mortgages, statements of adjustments and funds for review and approval by the assigned lawyer.
Prepares or fulfills requirements of a real estate closing statement and assists in closing process, including management of closing funds and payouts, and preparation of post-closing reports.
Skills & Qualifications
At least 2 years of experience as a property paralegal
In-depth knowledge of commercial real estate transactions and related laws
Ability to draft and review legal documents, such as purchase agreements, leases, and title documents
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficiency in using legal software and document management systems
A diploma in paralegal studies or a related field is preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
