This position is within the Hydropower & Dams market sector of the Power Division, which has 140 employees across Canada. This market sector specializes in hydroelectric projects (development, rehabilitation), dam and hydraulic structures engineering, and dam safety. We work in collaboration with public and private sector clients on innovative projects that allow our team members to prove their expertise and to train a new generation of passionate people.
In order to meet these growth challenges, WSP is currently looking for an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our team, located in one of our offices in Alberta.

What you can expect to do with us:
- Participate in feasibility studies and detailed engineering of new structures or rehabilitation of existing structures (dams, spillways, hydroelectric power plants);
- Perform reinforced concrete and steel structure design.
- Participate in site inspections.
- Participate in the preparation of plans and specifications.
- Prepare reports and calculation notes;
- Carry out dam safety studies.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent program.
- 6-10 years' experience in structural engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer in Alberta.
- Experience in civil/structural construction (an asset).
- Multi-disciplinary versatility, leadership skills, dynamic, team-spirited, quality-oriented, and technical excellence are essential.
- Strong communication skills.
