Fort Garry Industries has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanic Welder to join our team at our Edmonton location.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform incidental, structural and general welding on heavy duty equipment
  • Diagnose defects and perform repairs on heavy equipment
  • Perform electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Perform installation of new and added-on equipment, mechanical transmissions and drivetrains
  • Repair cable-operated working attachments on winches, compressors and pumps
  • Test all repaired and installed equipment for proper performance
  • Other duties as assigned

What We Require:

  • Journeyman Welder designation required.
  • 2nd year heavy duty mechanic apprentice or equivalent experience required.
  • Proficiency in several welding types required (MIG, TIG, Stick, Aluminum
  • MUST BE ABLE to meet the physical requirements: Lift up to 75lbs, able to work while kneeling/squatting and crouching, work at varying heights and enclosed areas.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills – dedicated to exceeding expectations of internal and external customers.
  • Strong written and verbal skills – ability to write and speak succinctly with customers and colleagues.
  • Basic to proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (email, word, excel) and ability to learn in-house systems.
