Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will be a part of the Geotechnical team, based in Burnaby, BC office and have the opportunity to work with a great team. Working closely with Project Engineers/Managers and Discipline Manager to conduct construction observations and confirmation of construction materials design elements and conducting materials quality assurance/control testing and reporting in both the field and laboratory for projects mainly in and around, but not limited to the Greater Calgary area. The successful candidate will spend their time both in the field on project sites or in the laboratory conducting materials testing, with further responsibilities assigned dependent upon level of experience and proficiency.

Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will be a part of the Geotechnical team, based in Burnaby, BC office and have the opportunity to work with a great team. What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Executing on site concrete tests which includes casting cylinders, slump test, and air content tests
- In Place Density testing using a Nuclear Densometer
- Carry out asphalt and concrete coring
- Collecting soil and asphalt samples on site
- Some in-lab work, such as testing concrete cylinders, grain size analysis, Proctor tests, asphalt tests, geotechnical index testing, etc.
- Subgrade field reviews
- Problem solving of project site issues
- Attend staff and project meetings when requested
- Interaction with clients and contractors to provide excellent service and a quick response to their testing needs.
- Completion or in process of a qualified Civil Engineering Technology diploma program
- Should have concrete, asphalt and soil testing exposure and/or experience
- Must be comfortable working safely in the field on construction sites
- Must have strong communication and people skills, and ability to work with wide variety of coworkers and clients
- Must have a valid Canadian driver’s license
- Must have some MS Office skills
- Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently is necessary
- Must be able to meet deadlines, well organized and able to work under pressure
