THE ROLE
Imagine the excitement and ability to show off your incredible skills in a deployed environment (overseas) for six months delivering fitness, sports, and recreation services to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and partner nations from across the world. As a deployed team member, you enhance the overall morale and welfare of all the troops deployed.
The Coordinator and Supervisor are part of an enthusiastic team enjoying meaningful employment in a team-based land or ship-based environment. You are a team player in a fast-paced setting, able to adapt to new challenges in an ever-changing environment.
You will be coordinating fitness, sports, and recreation for the CAF and partner nations, conducting personal and group fitness, organizing and delivering events, and providing guidance on relevant policies and directives.
Your role is crucial in enhancing military members' morale by planning activities that keep them mentally and physically ready for military operations.
Qualifications Needed
Education, Certifications and Licenses
- College diploma or certificate in Exercise Sciences or a related field
- Current Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) designation, an asset
- Canadian citizenship
- Valid Canadian passport
- Valid Canadian driver’s license (Class G or Class 5)
Experience
- Planning, organizing, and coordinating physical fitness programs
- Applying policies, procedures, and regulations
- Evaluating physical fitness
- Conducting training sessions
- Administering tournaments and events
- Officiating and coaching sports
Additional Supervisor Experience
- Managing facilities
- Inventory control and loss prevention
- Personnel administration
Competencies

Additional Qualifications Prior to Deployment
- Completion of a health, dental and psychosocial assessment
- Security screening
- Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items

Job Information
Position Type
Civilian deployment contracts are 6 months, with potential start dates within 2 years.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $36,425-$46,115 for six months
- Hours: Maximum 56 hours per week
- Tax-free allowance: Up to $1,716 per month
- Home Leave Travel Allowance (Vacation): Possibility of paid leave
