THE OPPORTUNITY

• Perform Lead Hand, Machine Operator, Scaler, and Production Operator duties in the event of their absence.
• Inspect finished product, verify date codes and seals, and complete required production and quality paperwork.
• Properly lockout and restart equipment according to safety procedures.
• Assist with production line set-up and changeovers.
• Assist with coordinating and overseeing work of department employees.
• Complete quality checks, verification of lot and item numbers, and recording production material in ERP system.
• Conduct new hire training and check-in with new employees when required.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and complete any minor adjustments.
• Responsible for maintaining food safety standards and reporting food safety issues to QA immediately.
• Work in a safe manner in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Read, write, and communicate (English)
• Proficient mathematical skills
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, teamwork and leadership skills
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent attention to detail
• Must be mechanically inclined with good problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a cold environment
• Previous forklift experience an asset
