Rotation/Shifts

Days, evenings, and nights, including weekends and statutory holidays, 8 hour shifts.

What You Will Do

The Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and organization of all departmental business practices/activities, in accordance with established practice, legislation, hospital policies, rules, and regulations. The Supervisor ensures the overall objectives of the department, and the organization are met while providing effective leadership that fosters employee job interest and the efficient delivery of services. Within their own team, the Supervisor applies learning and accountability consistent with a just culture, provides staff with written instruction on safety precautions where appropriate, ensures that staff adhere to standards of safe work and patient care, and closes the loop on staff and patient safety issues to ensure continuous improvement.

Basic Requirements

  • One (1) year Community College Diploma or a certified member of the Ontario Health-Care Housekeepers' Association (OHHA), Canadian Administrative Housekeepers' Association (CAHA), or other related Housekeeping Management programs;
  • Two (2) years supervisory experience;
  • Knowledge of procedures for operating Housekeeping equipment and cleaning techniques in an institutional setting;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office and Microsoft Outlook;
  • The blending of patience, compassion, and accountability;
  • Able to follow up with staff, clients and other stakeholders on key deliverables, questions and/or concerns;
  • Organized, independent, resilient, Quality Improvement and Change Management skills;
  • Good customer Service;
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in English and French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
