The Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following position:

Gabriel Dumont Institute Culture & Heritage Department
Our Mission Statement: To promote the renewal and development of Métis culture through research, materials development, collection and distribution of those materials, and the design, development and delivery of Métis-specific educational programs and services.

Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Gabriel Dumont Institute (GDI), managing the overall administration of the department’s work.
- Providing detailed reports on GDI Cultural and Heritage work to the CEO and GDI Board as required.
- Developing and implementing programs that meet the goals of the Institute.
- Managing overall human resources of the department including supervision of senior administrative staff.
- Overseeing ongoing processes for developing, maintaining, and enhancing annual plans for resources, partnerships, and cultural events.
- Preparing budgets, financial, and other reports as required.
- Liaising and maintaining relationships with relevant departments and agencies of the federal, provincial, and Métis Nation governments.
- Collaborating with other members of the GDI senior management team to support the GDI mission, vision, and strategic plan.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Education, Educational Administration, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred.
- Several years of successful experience in the education and cultural sector.
- Publishing acumen and experience working with community groups.
- Knowledge of Métis culture and history and intercultural issues.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in a variety of software programs.
Remuneration: A competitive salary and benefits package
Term: March 1, 2025 – February 28, 2028
