Job Description

Design and implement manufacturing processes for Rockwell Automation products in an Engineered to Order environment. Lead small to large projects varying in complexity, with focused improvements on safety, productivity, quality, and delivery. Maintain process design control and effectively implement standard work instructions and training. Responsible for daily production support and resolution of product and process issues impeding the production schedule. Support global production sites to achieve process standardization and share best practices. Ensure that manufacturing processes provide highest quality product at lowest cost. You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. You will work onsite from our Cambridge, ON facility.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing engineering support for manufacturing operations.
  • Assist production personnel in downtime resolution, quality of products produced, and safety practices.
  • Identify and implement manufacturing cost reductions and productivity improvements.
  • Investigate, solve, and report on manufacturing problems using continuous Lean practices and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Identify assembly equipment, tooling, and fixture requirements. Participate in the procurement, installation, and validation activities.
  • Initiate and provide justification for capital requests. Define, plan, and lead the implementation of approved capital requests.
  • Assist with the revision and creation of documented work instructions and provide training to production personnel.
  • Layout of new or existing production lines including material flow patterns,
  • Support material review board (MRB) to disposition defective parts or assemblies.
  • Effectively work on multiple projects in a team environment.
  • Conduct tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (ISO 9000, ISO 14000, etc.) as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.

The Essentials - You Will Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical Engineering, other related technical degree
  • Legal authorization to work in CAN is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have

  • 5+ years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Engineer to Order business environment.
  • 2+ years as a mechanical engineer
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment and interface with other functional groups.
  • Knowledge of Medium Voltage products an asset.
  • Demonstrated record of technical and business competence, interpersonal skills, leadership ability and a strong desire for a career in manufacturing or operations
  • Microsoft project, Auto CAD, PTC Creo
  • Experience with Project Management, Design For Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA), Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
