Who You Are:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Lead Database Administrator (DBA) to oversee the management and administration of our SQL Server databases. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of database management and a proven track record in leading and mentoring a small team of DBAs. Additionally, experience with Snowflake, Oracle, MySQL, and MongoDB is an asset. Proficiency in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a small team of Database Administrators, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server databases to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Assess and implement database strategies to support a resilient, modern, efficient operational practice.
  • Monitor database performance, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to optimize performance.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and availability by implementing robust backup and recovery procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their database needs and provide appropriate support and solutions.
  • Utilize SSIS for data integration and workflow applications, SSRS for business reporting, and SSAS for data analysis.
  • Stay updated on the latest SQL Server technologies and industry trends and recommend improvements to existing database infrastructure.
  • Manage database-related projects, including migrations, upgrades, and new implementations.
  • Participate in maturing our data administration practices in the AWS cloud environment, ensuring scalable and secure solutions.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive experience with SQL Server database management, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security.
  • Proficiency with SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
  • Experience with Snowflake, Oracle, and MySQL is an asset.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with cloud-based database solutions, particularly AWS, and familiarity with other database technologies is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are highly desirable.
