Your Opportunity:

As a leader in the development and promotion of best practice in quality improvement and safety, the Quality Consultant is responsible for fostering and embedding a continuous quality improvement culture in all areas served focusing on leading Women’s Health improvement initiatives across the zone. The consultant leads, coordinates and facilitates the provision of quality improvement services at the unit, program, site and zone levels.

Description:

The position requires developing & maintaining strong working relationships with Leadership and clinical staff at the unit, program, site and zone levels. Through collaboration with stakeholders, this position is responsible for:

  • Identifying areas for improvement across the system of care, while seeking to understand the local context to support effective change.
  • Working effectively with the ability to adapt approach with teams and leaders across multiple service areas who may have competing priorities in developing shared goals and action plans to achieve sustainable outcomes within focused timelines.
  • Influencing culture change through continual representation of the quality management body of knowledge for strategic program development and a systems focus with creativity.
  • Introducing and facilitating change management approaches for supporting collaboration across diverse and complex service areas.
  • Leading/facilitating the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of large scale quality improvement activities related to service improvement, patient safety and patient & family centred care.
  • Promoting alignment of efforts with the Quadruple Aim: improving the health of populations, enhancing the patient experience of care, and reducing the per capita cost of health care, while enhancing the provider experience of care.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent clinical and/or administrative healthcare experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent work facilitating quality improvement.
  • AIW and IHI Open School training.
  • Skills in literature review and ability to apply best practices into action.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale quality improvement projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including team building skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment, managing multiple priorities and timelines at once.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change based on sound change principles and effective relationship-building with a high tolerance for ambiguity.
  • Flexibility and the ability to adjust to changing environments and expectations.

Additional Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to recognize knowledge gaps and seek out resources to achieve deliverables.
  • Self-directed and takes initiative with the ability to work independently and interdependently.
  • Team focused and willing to compromise to support the achievement of the collective goals.
  • Well-developed critical thinking skills and ability to problem-solve.
  • Ability to research, monitor, and analyze data for use in decision making and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Skilled in group facilitation techniques.
  • Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio), and comfort in using technology for leading virtual meetings.
  • Demonstrated skills in using survey and data analytics tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in a clinical field, business, or healthcare administration.
  • Project Management training.
  • Innovation and Design thinking experience.
