Job Posting Title: Warehouse Operator (Specialized)

Time Type: Full Time

The primary function of the Warehouse Operator - specializes in handling large or oversized cargo and to ensure the smooth transition of warehouse related activities starting from inflow of products to the time product leaves the warehouse. Functions include receiving, labelling, and locating items on racks, picking, checking, packing, and shipping.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Load and unload cargo onto airline pallets according to airline and cargo specifications.
• Arrange cargo to maximize pallet space and maintain proper weight distribution.
• Secure cargo using approved netting, straps, and other fastening equipment.
• Inspect cargo for damage or irregularities before and after loading.
• Follow safety protocols to prevent injuries and ensure cargo security.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Communicate with warehouse staff, drivers, and supervisors to coordinate efficient cargo loading.
• Maintain accurate records of loaded pallets and report discrepancies or issues
• Inspect drilling rods for quality assurance and ensure compliance with shipping standards.
• Securely pack and load drilling rods into ocean containers using appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Perform weight balancing and stacking calculations to optimize load safety and efficiency.
• Follow all safety protocols and ensure secure transport within the facility.
• Work collaboratively with the logistics team to coordinate shipping schedules and documentation
• Proficiency in operating heavy machinery, with valid certifications (e.g., forklift or crane operator).

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a warehousing environment managing with a minimum of 1 year handling large or oversized cargo and building up airline pallets
• Minimum high school education required
• Dangerous Goods Certification, an asset
• Authorized Cargo Representative (ACR) designated status, an asset
• Forklift license required

• Regular working hours apply for this position, at times, working beyond these hours may be required by business needs.
• Safety shoes and safety vest to be used during work hours

Required Shift & Hours of Operation

• Tuesday to Saturday 9am – 5pm with occasional overtime
