POSITION: Birth Unit Aide

DEPARTMENT: Birth Unit

CONDITIONS: Temporary Part-time (0.40 FTE) for approximately six (6) months

HOURS: Approximately 30.0 Bi-weekly Hours

SHIFTS: Days / Nights / Weekends, 11.25 hours per shift (subject to change)

WAGE RANGE: Scale Minimum Maximum
CUPE22 $28.82/hr $30.27/hr

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support activities which contribute to the provision of quality care of patients in the Childbirth Program
• Cleaning duties, stocking and replenishing of supplies, delivery of specimens, assisting with transportation of patients
• Cleaning and monitoring of select surgical instrumentation and equipment
• Cleaning of Birth Unit OR as per OR standards
• Communicate with CSR to ensure presence of supplies and equipment
• Demonstrate QCH values: collaboration, accountability, innovation, respect

REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 education
• Knowledge acquired through the successful completion of an accredited health related course
• Able to maintain effective relationships with the unit team members to assist in promoting efficient operations within the unit
• Good organizational skills
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Able to maintain effective relationships and collaborate with and support health care team
• Valid CPR certification level C
• Regular and reliable attendance at work
