Job Description:

About the Role:

Do you thrive in an environment where resiliency is an everyday occurrence? Are you calm under pressure and a 'Master of Disaster' at facing challenges and deterring issues?

If you answered a resounding YES, then we're interested in you!

The TD Securities Business Resilience team takes a dedicated approach to business recovery. We build on the principles of business continuity but extend much further to help improve TD Securities' infrastructure, so our businesses can address challenges, deter issues, balance risks and bounce back from disruption more quickly.

By using your practical experience, our team provides businesses with the tools they need to build solutions that work in real life, to reset and recover with as little disruption as possible.

We develop resiliency strategies and playbooks that keep our businesses strong, adaptable and operating in significant sources of threats and stresses regardless of the situation.

Operational Resilience has been increasingly important for the firm to grow stronger, sustainable and resilient in the face of disruption. The role is challenging: become the driver to achieve a resilient business in an organization rapidly growing in scale and complexity.

What you'll be doing:

Specifically, the TDS Operational Resilience Manager will:

Operational Resilience Policy and Procedures

  • Work closely with the Business, Business Controls office and Risk & Compliance to ensure that TDS is compliant globally with regulatory expectations and policies at all times.

Operational Resilience Governance Structure

  • Support the operational resilience committee and relevant working groups to manage the Operational Resilience activities across TDS.

Identify and map Important Business Services

  • Work with department heads and business subject matter experts to ensure TDS Important Business Services are aligned with the business strategy and mapped end-to-end including core processes, dependencies, vendors, and IT systems.

Scenario Building and Analysis

  • Maintain the scenario library and work with experts and risk partners to build new severe but plausible scenarios for operational resilience stress testing exercises.

Impact Tolerance Testing and Reporting

  • Plan, coordinate, and lead scenario testing exercises, capture testing output, generate management reports, and obtain governance approvals as required.

Executives and/or Board Updates

  • Prepare updates for the Board, C-Suite management, and the Risk Governance forums on the progress of operational resilience initiatives.

External and Industry Engagement

  • TDS participates in Industry forums; participation in these and understanding key trends amongst peer firms will be encouraged.

Use of and creation of KRI's to support monitoring and trigger-based activities

  • Support the mapping of existing KRIs for resilience measurement and monitoring and the development of new metrics that define triggers-based activities and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements:

  • Background in Financial Services, preferably Operations, Crisis Management, Scenario Planning, and Business Analysis.
  • Ability to articulate risk management concepts in business language.
  • Knowledge and experience of relevant operational resilience regulations.
  • Experience managing stakeholders including C-Level.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Experience managing business continuity and resilience within a scaling organization.
  • Experience of Framework and Process improvement.
  • Keen eye for attention to detail and a collaborative approach.
