What you will be doing:

Lead Duties (scheduled as needed)

  • Ability to conduct daily Cycle Counts per Manager’s request
  • Report on High Stock, High Ditch items
  • Identify and communicate gaps or tasks required to improve Department
  • Work with Manager and colleagues to develop guidelines and processes that ensure impeccable quality, efficiency, reduce waste and promote continuous improvement
  • Work with other department team members as one large team to get the day's work done, taking initiative and being willing to assist others as necessary, rolling up your sleeves to get the job done
  • Label Produce areas in Fridges weekly

Receiving Produce

  • Receive deliveries checking that quantity of items match what was ordered and that quality of products meets our standards; working with the QA department deciding whether or not to accept or return product
  • Ensure that invoices are clearly marked with returns and/or errors.
  • Working inside the fridges to separate and sort received produce and rotate, label accordingly
  • Work with Packing Line Leads to deliver same day needs to the packing line
  • Conduct inventory checks per Manager’s request

Receiving Grocery

  • Receive and check items from suppliers by annotating the supplier invoice to confirm quantities, quality and best before dates.
  • Count, weigh, label and rotate meat in freezers
  • Stock shelves using FIFO method
  • Restock shelves, fridges and freezers regularly. Ensure product is quality checked, rotated and dated.
  • Keep fridges, freezers, shelves and warehouse clean and organized
  • Assist in distributing same-day needs to the Packing Line

Bulk Pull Tasks

  • Set up bulk pull items for next day needs organized into their correct packing order on Pallets or racks and noting any items short to Manager
  • Check Bulk pull for accuracy and note any new or existing shorts.
  • Pallets and racks are labelled according to order pull sheets and moved into fridges for storage overnight.

Receiving area maintenance

  • Organize and clean fridges as necessary; rotating and consolidating older product and ensuring fridges are condensed and tidy at all times
  • Maintain a tidy and safe working environment at all times
  • Tidy and wipe down receiving prep table
  • Request labels as needed from Manager
  • Organize pallets, carts and pallet jacks and electric pallet jacks.
  • Collect and organize empties and returns by company and move to receiving area for next day pick up
  • Throw out garbage, Wax boards, Cardboard and Debris from pallets and packaging etc.
  • Sweep fridges and receiving area daily

What you will bring to the table:

  • Experience working with Produce/Grocery in a Receiving setting
  • Ability to clearly communicate
  • Cooperative and communicative attitude across company team
  • Ability to set priorities, adjust and respond professionally to changing priorities and issues
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with little supervision.

Certification/Licensing Requirements

  • Training and sign off on the electrical pump truck

Physical Requirements

  • Capability to work in refrigerator and freezer environments for extended periods of time
  • Proficiency in using pump trucks
  • Physical agility for standing, walking, reaching, bending, twisting, and carrying/lifting up to 50 lb
  • Strength to lift up to 50lbs and maneuver full skids of product

Things you should know:

  • Receiving shift hours are from 7 AM - 5 PM, and weekend availability is necessary. Please be aware that the schedule is subject to change based on operational requirements.
