Position Overview
Fresh Start Foods Canada Ltd. was founded in 1993 to provide Foodservice Customers with a fresh alternative. An outstanding supply network, efficient distribution, and our thoroughly modern processing plant are all part of our commitment to provide the freshest fruits and vegetables possible.
Fresh Start Foods is currently hiring a Full-Time Production Supervisor who is eager to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment in our Richmond, BC location. The Production Supervisor will oversee the workflow and personnel in the facilities production department. They are also responsible for coaching, resolving issues, and supporting subordinates and upper management.
Position: Permanent, Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Day Shift (flexibility will be required based on business needs)
Salary: $58,000-64,000 per year, plus a quarterly bonus based on performance
Duties and Responsibilities
- Tracking and reporting on key metrics for production.
- Measuring and controlling product yields.
- Working with product development to create items and assign costs.
- Managing productivity, labour, and overtime.
- Analyze production line processes, and create process improvements.
- Follow and maintain all Quality Assurance, HACCP, SQF requirements, and Occupational Health & Safety regulations and ensure all employees under their department follow all the regulations.
- Complete all required training (e.g., Leadership, Equipment, and Operational), ensure employees’ adherence to company practices and procedures, and apply corrective action when needed.
- Plans staff break time schedules. Conducts interviews, hires, trains, and retains staff. Performs performance monitoring (e.g., Probationary, Annual Evaluation, and Performance Objectives) of staff. Initiates follow-through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Human Resources when appropriate for the department.
- Perform any other duties as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience working in produce industry is an asset
- Experience working in a production facility is an asset
- Leadership experience is an asset
- High school or equivalent
- Excellent attention to detail and strong motivation toward company, team, and individual results.
- Ability to work effectively with others and build and maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships.
- Must have good written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills and problem-solving capabilities.
- Must have the ability to prepare and deliver reports, business correspondence, and presentations, as well as speak at minor functions as a departmental representative.
- Must have the ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently or within a team environment.
- Must be able to develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity and reference policies and practices for guidance.
- Knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, presentation, email, and internet software applications.
