Key Responsibilities
- Accurately complete required documentation in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Operate various equipment, including Fitzmills, Comills, tablet presses, encapsulation machines, scales, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
- Set up and dismantle equipment as needed.
- Clean and sanitize manufacturing areas and equipment.
- Handle raw materials, including picking, returning, screening, transferring, and weighing.
- Provide quality control with proper sample collection and documentation.
- Adhere to all GMP, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and health and safety policies.
- Successfully complete forklift training.
- Stand for extended periods during shifts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent.
- Ability to lift 50-100 lbs consistently during shifts.
- Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations.
- Strong communication skills in English and the ability to follow instructions.
- Physical fitness and endurance for repetitive lifting, bending, and standing.
- Commitment to reliability and a willingness to learn.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Post-secondary certificate in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
Additional Information
- Candidates must pass an online pre-qualification exam (access to a desktop or laptop computer is required).
- A respirator is required for certain tasks, necessitating a clean-shaven face for proper fit.
- Successful applicants must complete a physical assessment administered by the University of Manitoba.
- A minimum 12-month commitment to the position is required before considering internal position changes.
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
Recruiting Process:
- Step 1: Successfully complete an online pre-employment assessment
- Step 2: Interview with Human Resources
- Step 3: A tour of our facilities with departmental managers, providing an opportunity to understand the roles and ask questions, followed by an additional pre-employment assessment.
- Step 4: Physical assessment and medical clearance.
- Step 5: Reference and background check clearance.
Compensation and Shift Details
- Starting wage: $18.02 - $19.02 per hour. Wages will be increased based on hours of work completed and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday-Friday
- Evening Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Monday-Friday (+ $0.80/hour premium).
- Night Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, Sunday-Thursday (+ $1.05/hour premium).
- Training may be scheduled on a different shift.
- Limited public transportation is available; personal transportation is required.
IVC Vita Health is operational 5 days a week, 24 hours per day; candidates with open availability and access to personal transportation for both the evening and nights shifts will be considered before those with limited availability.
