Position overview:

Sagard Credit is actively growing its private wealth / retail fund strategy and has a growing public loan portfolio focused on investing in the US broadly syndicated loan market.

Your Responsibilities:

• Identify new investment opportunities in the US broadly syndicated loan (BSL)market
• Interact with sell side brokers; develop and manage relationships with the street and research analysts to develop new investment ideas and execute loan trades
• Develop investment theses on new BSL opportunities and present them to Investment Committee
• Interact with senior leaders across the organization, including investment teams, Finance/Tax, and Private Wealth Solutions, to serve as a key point of contact to help operate and grow the business
• Manage BSL portfolio holdings and monitor underlying risk and be responsible for presenting performance of retail funds to key stakeholders and partners
• Manage borrowing bases on retail fund strategies
• Maintain and develop liquidity models/systems to manage capital inflows and make sure portfolio is fully invested
• Develop and maintain systems to track performance and risk of private wealth / retail fund portfolio.
  
  

Experience & Qualifications:

• Strong desire to be part of a growing entrepreneurial environment
• A bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance,or other related fields
• 4-10 years of successful track record investing within a leverage loan/high yield investment environment
• Previous experience working with a major pension fund or well respected asset manager
• Deep understanding of fixed income topics and can act as a subject matter expert on fixed income strategy design
• Understanding of the competitive landscape in CLOs and leveraged loan investing within North America
• Diverse industry sector exposure
• Portfolio Management experience is an asset
• Excellent knowledge of finance and accounting concepts
• Proven curiosity about investing and analyzing businesses
• Strong written and verbal communication skills showing attention to detail
• Works optimally in teams or independently
• Ability to mentor and develop junior team members
• Collegial and friendly
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is an asset ((Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
