Information Security Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced API Security Specialist to join our growing security team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of our APIs, which are fundamental to our business. You will work closely with development, engineering, and other stakeholders to identify vulnerabilities, implement security best practices, and drive a culture of API security awareness. This role requires a deep understanding of API architectures, security threats, and remediation strategies. You will be a key contributor in shaping our long-term API security roadmap.
Responsibilities:
- Remediation Guidance: Provide clear and actionable remediation guidance to development teams, including specific recommendations for addressing identified vulnerabilities.
- Standard and Process Development: Contribute to the development and maintenance of API security standards and processes.
- Collaboration and Communication: Effectively communicate API security concepts and best practices to a wide range of audiences, including developers, engineers, management, and other stakeholders. Drive conversations to align API security initiatives with organizational goals.
- Security Awareness Training: Develop and deliver training programs to raise awareness of API security best practices within the organization.
- Security Tooling: Evaluate and recommend API security tools and technologies to enhance our security posture.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in API security, with a strong understanding of API architectures, protocols, and security best practices.
- Deep understanding of API security threats and vulnerabilities, including the OWASP API Security Top 10.
- Experience with API security testing tools and techniques.
- Strong knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms for APIs (e.g., OAuth 2.0, JWT).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Experience with cloud-based API security solutions is a plus.
