Pension Specialist, Client Services
The Ontario Pension Board (OPB) administers the Public Service Pension Plan (the PSPP), a major defined benefit pension plan sponsored by the Government of Ontario. With 100,000 members and $31 billion in assets, the PSPP is one of Canada’s largest pension plans.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional client service through various channels of communication, based on analysis of information and determination of client eligibility, options and benefits.
- Maintain established service standards while processing complex transactions in accordance with applicable legislation and OPB policies.
- Enhance the service experience for clients by assisting them to make informed decisions regarding the Plan provisions.
- Support the development and enhancement of internal operational processes with a focus on efficiencies and client satisfaction.
- Share information with colleagues and make recommendations for continuous improvements in service delivery.
- Identify situations requiring advisory referral and manage client service delivery risks effectively.
- Participate in peer training to promote consistency in service delivery.
- Engage in projects by providing lifecycle expertise, testing, and post-deployment support.
- Maintain knowledge of changes in legislation, policy, or procedure to ensure accuracy and knowledge transfer.
- Provide call support as operationally required.
Qualifications:
- Passion for delivering superior service to clients and stakeholders.
- Experience in providing pension administration services and dealing with clients in the financial services sector.
- Strong background in processing client transactions per established best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
- Familiarity with federal tax legislation and the Pension Benefits Act, with a strong understanding of the pensions industry.
- Sound judgement, resourcefulness, and strong analytical skills to navigate complex client transactions.
- Effective time management and organizational skills with attention to service levels.
- Self-directed with a strong desire to learn and embrace teamwork and collaboration.
