Responsibilities
The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of six Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Communication Sciences and Disorders), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centres. The faculty has more than 3,200 undergraduate students and more than 800 graduate students (200 PhD students).
The faculty is home to 4 world-class research centres, including; Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging (CCAA), National Center for Audiology (NCA), Centre for Research on Health Equity and Social Inclusion (CRHESI) and the International Centre for Olympic Studies (ICOS). In addition, the faculty, through the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders, operates the H.A. Leeper Speech and Hearing Clinic. The faculty also is considering expanding its offering in interprofessional clinical experiences and programs.
Join our team! We are seeking an Audiologist to join the H.A. Leeper Speech and Hearing Clinic to provide audiologic diagnostic assessments, habilitation services, and surveillance of high-risk children. In this position, you’ll contribute to the School’s and Clinic's strategic and clinical education goals while supervising audiology graduate students' training in pediatric client management. This is an exciting opportunity to help improve the quality of life for clients with or at risk of hearing, balance, language, and cognitive-communication disorders through the expert provision of leading-edge, up-to-date audiological assessment and management with a particular focus on infants and children. This position is located on site, in London, Ontario.
About You: As the ideal candidate, you hold a current license and are in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). You have one year of experience as a clinical Audiologist as well as experience with audiologic assessment and management of children with hearing loss. You will also have some experience in counselling families of children with hearing loss. Finally, you have strong interpersonal communication skills with a client service orientation.
