Role Description
We’re looking for a dedicated Accounting Specialist to support our financial operations. This standalone role will report to one of Summit’s co-founders, with support provided from a fractional Chief Financial Officer. This role is perfect for a conscientious and friendly professional who enjoys taking initiative and will take ownership of project billings and support accounts payable and payroll processing. The ideal candidate will influence operational improvements and support the implementation of solutions to automate and enhance the department's capabilities.
Core Responsibilities
- Create and send/submit invoices as dictated by each customer’s requirements.
- Coordinate with other team members to ensure the accuracy of billing information.
- Handle client inquiries and follow up on any issues relating to the billing process.
- Track payment processing, proactively follow up on overdue accounts and escalate as needed.
- Maintain meticulous records and resolve any discrepancies and payment processing issues.
- Support payroll and accounts payable processing.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to financial policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in business administration, accounting, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of work experience in accounting or bookkeeping
- Working knowledge of accounting principles
- Strong time management, organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and numerical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong customer service skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment.
